Dear SDSU community,

On September 14, 2021, California voters will be tasked with casting a ballot in the California Gubernatorial Recall Election.

Recall elections can be requested by any California voter, and organizers of the recall are not required to list a cause for the recall, but they must collect a minimum of 12% of the votes that were cast to elect the current officeholder, and signatures must come from at least five different counties.

For more information on this election, please visit the Associated Students Rock the Vote page.

Check Your Voter Status, Register to Vote

Take 2 Minutes to Check Your Voter Status Today

The beginning of the academic year is always a good time to register to vote, and the deadline to do so is Monday, August 30.

If you have moved or had a change of address since the previous election, check and update your voter registration status on California’s online voter registration website. Please note: If you miss the voter registration deadline you are still eligible to vote using Same-Day Voter Registration, known as Conditional Voter Registration.

Sign Up to Vote By Mail

If you are registered to vote in San Diego County, fill out the quick mail-in application. After completing the application, return it to the address listed on the form. You will then receive your ballot by mail. Mail-in ballots can be returned by mail or dropped off at any polling location or the Registrar of Voters.

Eligible citizens who need to register or re-register to vote within 14 days of an election can complete this process to vote at their county elections office, polling place, or vote center.
